Sometimes You Just Gotta Blow Your Nose

All Aboard!

We joined the crowd yesterday, to be among the first passengers of the new commuter train, UTA’s Front Runner. This new train runs from Ogden to Salt Lake City with speeds getting up to 79 mph. It was a fun ride. We were all impressed with the enormousness of the engine as we waited in line. It actually freaked Zach out. Good thing we got to see it pass a few times before we got on, because by then he was warming up to the idea. I hope this train is all it has been dreamt to be. We definitely give it our vote.

P.S. Thanks to Doug and Allen for your support.

Perhaps He'll be a Doctor

Today, Zach and I went in for a recertification appointment at the WIC office. There they check your height, weight and blood. This time mom got to go first and show Zach what it's like to be tough. He thought everything was really cool, especially the finger pricking. He kept trying to reach for the little stabbing device. I thought that when it was his turn, that original desire would change. Nope he took the pricking like a champ. Fascinated by the whole process, and in the end he was still reaching for the finger pickers!

Baby Animal Days!

Out here in the sticks we like to teach our kids about life, trucks, and being tough. An example of this was the annual Baby Animal Days. We had our dear friends over and we all attended the great festival. There our kids were able to go into the animal pens and touch all of the new babies. They ranged from turtles and frogs, to cows and sheep, with a whole bunch of others in between. After that we viewed the old farm equipment. And of course a local get together wouldn't be complete without the kid's mutton bustten, and axe throwing (and yes they were really throwing real axes). We got a video of the greatest mutton bustten ride, and will post it soon. Until then enjoy the pictures!

The Glasses

One of the major "please do not touches" in our home are our glasses. I usually keep mine near the bed at night and Zach has learned that if he sees them, he instantly hands them over to me. He has even go so far as to take them off the dresser and run all the way to the other side of the room, just to hand them to me. Well on Thursday, while I was cleaning up, our dear little friend decided to try them on (with semi-success). He was so proud of himself that he did a few victory laps around the house, smiling with glee. It was so funny, I had to take a picture and share.
