Someone Got His Train

In case you haven't noticed by the hijacking of my blog :) Peter does indeed love trains. So when he asked for a really big train for Christmas it came as no surprise. Actually he has asked for this train ever since we've been married. We just finally found one for a decent price. Merry Christmas sweetheart...I really do love you. :)

Yes I Still Love Trains!

We got approval from the board of trustees to have a wonderful train layout this year. Here are some videos of our layout.

Thanks mom for letting us have the train out this year!

For the nerds: When you look at the track layout, you'll notice that there is an electrical issue presented with this loop-back setup. The polarity of the rails is shorted when the track is looped back on itself. So to overcome that problem I had to do two things, first I had to eclectically isolate each loop from the single track behind the couch and each time the train is about to re-enter the strait section behind the couch, I set it up to trigger a magnetic switch which flips the polarity of strait section of track, that way there aren't any shorts in the track. Figuring out how to do that was lots of fun!

Many Thanks!

I just want to say thank you to some awesome people in our life.

This past semester of school has been crazy!! I took 17 credit hours of strait upper level engineering courses, my laptop died 2/3rds of the way through the semester and we had a baby!

We couldn't have done it without the help from some awesome grandmas! Thank you so much Joan and Lael for coming and helping us! We are so lucky to have such wonderful parents.

Also, I want to thank Devin for letting me borrow his laptop for that last part of the semester. That was very kind of him.

We have a beautiful little girl and I was able to finish up this semester with only one A- !!

Thanks!!
